I’ll Tumblr For Ya

I started a Tumblr account back in November, but around that time, I was still relatively new to the blogging scene and was already making the switch from Blooger to a dedicated wordpress site. I really had no idea what use another blog site would be to me.

Now a few months later and with some more blogging experience under my belt, I now have found a use for my Tumblr blog. I have always seen Rod’s Rants as a hub for my more thought-out and researched posts. Posts that have relevance and meaning to people. I only want content on this site that has value; so that is what this main site will continue to house.

My new Tumblr blog will play host to more personal posts and little snippets of the random thoughts that make up my day. For instance, I have posted a quote that has hit home for me as well as an animated GIF I made out of a series of pictures of my daughter. They are things I find worthy of a post, just not on what I consider my “professional” blog.

Which is actually why I bring this up here in the first place. Many people are unaware of the functionality of the different blog platforms that are out there and afraid to experiment and find out how, if at all, each one works for them. Don’t be afraid to have more than one blog, or to use different sites for various purposes. Besides web ubiquity is what most bloggers are after anyways right?

So here starts my run with a more personal blog. Let me know what you think, and also what blogging platforms you use and what purposes each perform. Maybe you will introduce me to another way to express myself on the web!
